Last evening, Partners Community Health (PCH) hosted its 2024 Year-in-Review at the Wellbrook Place Integrated Seniors’ Hub. The event provided an opportunity for stakeholders to learn more about PCH’s exciting work the past year, as well as the innovative solutions that are being developed to support long-term care needs in the community.

The event began with opening remarks from Tess Romain, President, PCH and Jeff Lozon, Chair, PCH’s Board of Directors who both spoke to the significant milestones that PCH has achieved including the opening of Wellbrook Place, two long-term care homes and Integrated Seniors’ Hub in Mississauga, and launch of the ‘Welcome Home’ campaign, which supported the recruitment of over 700 staff and welcoming of over 600 residents to the homes since their opening in November 2023.

“This past year has been a series of significant milestones for PCH, and a testament to the passion and dedication of our amazing team,” said Tess Romain. “We have worked to build a strong organizational culture and strived to create a place that our residents, staff and family members are proud to call home through the opening of Wellbrook Place. We see Wellbrook Place as a starting point and a platform that will allow us to define a new kind of care for people living in Mississauga and West Toronto.”

Rudy Cuzzetto, Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) for Mississauga Lakeshore, introduced the evening’s guest speaker Bernice Cipparrone-McLeod, Chair of the Wellbrook Place East Family Council, who spoke about her experience with Partners Community Health and Wellbrook Place. “Each time I come to visit I’m reminded of the relationships and how important they are to staff and the other family members whose senior parents are here,” explained Bernice. “As my mother smiles and chuckles and I see her hair braided beautifully, I know she’s being well cared for.”

Tess Romain, introduced the evening’s keynote speakers for the evening, Kerry Kuluski, Research Chair, Institute for Better Health at Trillium Health Partners and Walter Wodchis, Research Chair and Senior Scientist, Institute for Better Health at Trillium Health Partners. Kerry and Walter provided insight and perspective into the current state of health data and how it is helping us to better understand the needs for older adults.

After closing remarks, the reception portion of the event began where attendees socialized in the Integrated Seniors’ Hub space.

The event also celebrated the launch of PCH’s 2023-24 Annual Report. This report highlights PCH’s achievements from the past year, the promising road ahead and a summary of the audited financial statements.
