PCH is a not-for-profit, charitable organization focused on bringing health care services together around the needs of people living in Mississauga and West Toronto. As one of Mississauga’s newest healthcare providers, PCH offers exciting volunteer opportunities in several areas, from a front door greeter to one of the many programs we are building in our Integrated Seniors Hub and the new state-of-the-art long-term care home. Becoming a PCH volunteer provides individuals with a distinct sense of purpose, where special skills are truly needed and valued.

We are looking for dedicated volunteers on an ongoing basis!
Not all volunteer assignments involve direct contact with clients – yet each one is vital to the everyday tasks that need to be accomplished at PCH’s Integrated Seniors’ Hub and Wellbrook Place. Responsibilities range from reception, clinical, social and wellness services to serving lunch and helping in the Wellbrook Place Café or Gift Shop.

Support programming in our Integrated Seniors’ Hub working in a variety of recreational, social and wellness programs (depending on monthly scheduled activities).
Assisting with various clerical duties to support programming in one of our Clinics working (audiology, podiatry/chiropody, etc).
Working in a concierge position at one of the various information desks.
Interacting with seniors and families in our Café / Bistro. This will involved helping members of the community enjoy a lunch and/or social afternoon experience with fellow residents, visitors and staff in the Bistro.
Helping the staff at Wellbrook Place to support residents in delivering snacks to residents, and helping during meal times.
Selling items within a friendly environment to our clients, their families, and other community members. Responsibilities will include opening and/or closing the gift shop, as well as maintaining its organization and cleanliness.
Helping coordinate the overall volunteer monthly program materials, developing calendars, generating schedules and reports, updating project information and scheduling.
Helping with fundraising efforts including hosting events, soliciting sponsorship from major donors and soliciting auction prizes.
Enthusiastic and motivating instructors that can teach seniors drama, music, visual arts, and other enriching activities.
Musical or other creative talents to entertain residents, Hub clients and visitors! Entertainment volunteers help residents enjoy live music and other activities both indoor and outdoor at our homes.
Assisting with various special events (workshops, fairs) that are scheduled throughout the year. You will be involved in the room set up, serving, photography and interacting with seniors and then room clean-up/tear down.
