#PeopleofPCH is a series that highlights the diverse stories of staff, residents, and families across Partners Community Health (PCH).

Say hello to Jennifer Alejo-Cabansag, Receptionist at Partners Community Health. Jennifer shares her story for Administrative Professionals’ Day:

“Working as an administrative professional puts me at the heart of healthcare, acting as a critical link between residents, families and staff. Through my role, I’m able to contribute to residents’ care and support my colleagues by helping them meet their needs and requests.

From assisting in maintaining medical records, to answering and directing calls to greeting everybody that comes into Wellbrook Place, I support administrative functions that are vital to our healthcare system. A typical day for me involves a lot of multitasking, organization and patience. It’s a very collaborative role where I get to work with a variety of different teams to carry out administrative tasks, communicate with residents and families, and build meaningful connections.

My favourite part of the job is greeting and interacting with residents, staff and families on a daily basis. I’m able to form great connections and build friendly relationships, making this an extremely rewarding career for me.

Working in this field has taught me the importance of being patient and flexible, having a keen attention to detail and staying positive.

I enjoy making sure things flow smoothly for residents, families and my colleagues and it’s my job to make that happen. I stay in this career because I love what I’m doing, and it motivates me every day.”
