#PeopleofPCH is a series that highlights the diverse stories of staff, residents, and families across Partners Community Health (PCH).

Say hello to Khushpreet Kaur, Recreation Aide at Wellbrook Place. Khushpreet shares her story for Recreation Therapy Month:

“Being part of the recreation team has taught me patience, empathy, and compassion. In this role, it’s important to put yourself in the shoes of the residents to better understand their perspective and to be able to form deeper connections with them.

Connection is an essential part of working in recreation therapy. When I form a connection with a resident, I learn about their interests, preferences, and abilities which help me plan activities they can enjoy and that are best suited to meet their needs.

I chose this career because I love building relationships with people, and that’s what I get to do every day.”
